Andrija Maurovic, as illustrator, cartoonist and poster author, his creative peak reached as the author of black and white adventure comics, which began in the media in 1935. and which encompasses all the qualities of previous experiences. It is difficult to describe the total number of his professions and activities. He was a painter of seascapes and apocalyptic scenes, caricaturist, illustrator, preacher and comic strip sketcher. He lived life of his own and created a great number of impressive comic strip heroes and personalities (like Dan, Old Tom-cat, Radoslav).

An auction of Claudio Frank’s paintings will be held on the birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in hotel "Mozart" in Opatija.
The musical part of the program is dedicated to Mozart with pianist Natalya Marycheva, Claudio Frank and his daughter Esperanza. Part of the collected funds will be given to Lovran’s home for children and young adults "Ivana Brlic - Mazuranic". The “bingo” will be organized as well and winner will get two pictures of Claudio Frank.
Traditionally - for centuries in Liburnija masks take over on the feast of St. Anton, January the 17th and the Carnival folly begins. Dancing and singing, "kampanat&obahajat" until Ash Wednesday. The sound of Antonja's horn, hand over the town's key and hoisting of carnival flag mark the start of Carnival 2009. Opatija is ready!
