Croatian broadcaster HRT has launched its national selection process DORA 2009, culminating in two spectacular shows to be held in Opatija.

XIV International Sailing Regatta CARNIVAL CUP 2009 will take place in Opatija, Croatia, from 20th to 22nd February 2009.
The regatta is governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the OPTIMIST class rules, Notice of Race and Sailing instructions.
Start of the first race is scheduled on Friday, February 20th, 2009 at 9:30
7 races will be held if possible.
Racing area will be in Rijeka Bay (near Opatija).
Low Point System according to Appendix A RRS will apply.

The Italian music legend of Italian Bobby Solo will hold a concert on February 18th in the Crystal Hall of Hotel Kvarner in Opatija. Star of San Remo festival, will host on the stage of Kvarner singer from Istria - Lidija Percan, Bruno Krajcar, Maria Marinović and David Dezsö which will also play a song.

The main goal of the Symposium is to present to the agronomists and the general public the results of scientific and professional work of Croatian and international specialists and in this way enable a better transfer of scientific and professional achievements into agricultural production.
Traditional "Balinjerada", 26th in the row, downhill race of vehicles with ball bearing, "balinjere". Masked participants compete in several categories - "monopatini" vehicles on two wheels, like the scooter, then "Karic", vehicles with three wheels on the wooden surfaces on which sits the driver, and "american vozići", imaginatively designed allegoric cars. Special body will award the prizes.
