Dimitrije Popovic's Exhibition - CORPUS MYSTICUM

The exhibition “Corpus Mysticum“ - Dimitrije Popovic , prominent contemporary painter, sculptor, graphic artist and designer, artist of substantial production and rich work whose resume includes more than 50 independent and 200 group exhibitions.

Dimitrije Popović was born on 4 March 1951 in Cetinje (Montenegro). He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in1976. During his stay in Paris he met the Parisian collector Davrier in 1974, and in 1978 exhibited as part of his collection in the Alexander Braumuller Gallery with the artists Salvador Dali, Ernst Fuchs, Victor Brauner, Dado Đurić, Leonora Fini and others.
In Pforzheim the Galeria Liberta and the Universal Fine Arts from Washington organised his joint exhibition of prints with Salvador Dali in 1982. In the same year, to mark the great jubilee Leonardo a Milano 1482 – 1982, he exhibited the cycle of drawings Omaggio a Leonardo in the Milan Palazzo Sorami.
At the 27th International Art Festival Due mondi the town of Spoleto, in which that festival was held, organised his exhibition of paintings, drawings and prints.
In the jubilee year of two thousand years of Christianity he exhibited in Rome a cycle of crucifixions Corpus mysticum in Sant Andrea al Quirinale, Santa Maria del Popolo – I Agostiniana arte sacra conteporanea and in the Pantheon.
He is one of the fifteen artists, art critics and philosophers (M. Botta, M. Cacciari, M. Paladino and P. Portghesi) who were invited to write an answer to the Letter of Pope John Paul II to Artists.
