Andrija Maurovic, as illustrator, cartoonist and poster author, his creative peak reached as the author of black and white adventure comics, which began in the media in 1935. and which encompasses all the qualities of previous experiences. It is difficult to describe the total number of his professions and activities. He was a painter of seascapes and apocalyptic scenes, caricaturist, illustrator, preacher and comic strip sketcher. He lived life of his own and created a great number of impressive comic strip heroes and personalities (like Dan, Old Tom-cat, Radoslav).

Filmaktiv organizes a workshop of video activism, with an emphasis on documentary and experimental films, for the youngsters in Rijeka, Opatija and surrounding area.
During the five months participants will learn the basics of video and audio recording, editing, film narratives, making DVDs and uploding movies to the Internet.
The workshop starts on Monday 2nd of February at 20:00. Workshops are held on Mondays from 8 – 10 pm in the Molekula, Delta 5.
Cultural central Kalvarija organizes "Children's masquerade" on January 24th, 25th and 31st and February the 1st continuing the tradition of the Rijeka carnival. Last year's ball was visited in a large number of masked children. It turned out that the "Children's masquerade" in Calvary jas been best and most visited Carneval entertainment for children. In the days when Rijeka area "live" for carnival, youngster's ball in the Calvary is imposed as a perfectly organized for children's masked fun.

Social Disco’s new project of trash-Dance Duo, Una from Rijeke, and Ce from Vicenza who entered in electro-indie waters accidentally. Two years they have sailed through Italy and finally reached Rijeka where they are invited to organize a new party in collaboration with Mile Hund (Misha Mitsubishi) located in the newly opened Filter Club.

Carnival Snowboard Session in 2009 is on again after the last year's 1st real street competition in Croatia. Rijeka's Nine crew this year's gone into the organization of even greater and better event on the steps of Bonavia.
Date of Carnival Snowboard Session is 31.01.2009., The place is the same, but with the expanded runway.
