"Učkarski Fair" has aim to bring visitors closer to nature park Ucka and its ethnological heritage of the autochtonous gastronomic offer, the traditional food and drinks, the old art, music and customs, and enable local people to present their traditional products and activities to the general public.
Skydive Photo Contest 2010th, organized by the Aero Club Cumulus Opatija, will be held on Friday 10th of September 2010 on the beach in Ičići. Start of parachute jumps is scheduled at 09:30 and will last to late afternoon. The Photo Competition will be staged in two categories: the air (photo paratroopers from the air) and earth (picture taken from the earth). Upon completion of the program parachuting jury will review and evaluate the images and the first three places in each category will be awarded. Exhibition of photography competition will be placed in the Hotel Imperial in Opatija.

Opatija Saturday, 11.9.2010 - 12.9.2010 Sailing Club Opatija organizes the traditional regatta for sport cruisers on the 74 nautical miles long route from Opatija to the rock Galijola and back.
Opatija Monday, 13.9.2010 - 18.9.2010 Croatian Amateur Radio Association organizes the 15th World ARDF (Amateur radio direction finding) Championships in Opatija. The First ARDF World Championships for the Blind are also being held during the same week in Opatija.

18th October 2003. in Pula was performed the installation by Marijan Busic "Cravat around the Arena", which saw more than a billion people. Five years later, the Croatian Parliament proclaimed the 18th October The Cravat Day in Croatia, and Academia Cravatica declared it The World Cravat Day. The word "cravat" comes from the French term "cravate" - "Croat" as the fashion of wearing scarf tied around neck in the 17th century popularized by Croats.
