OPATIJA - IMPERIAL CITY, Musical and theatrical spectacle, July 19th 21:30
The Lumiere brothers, who used to film in Opatija; Isadora Duncan, who danced inspired by the fluttering of palm leaves in the breeze; the Empress Sissi, who officially never visited Opatija, but used to hide here in a villa in the company of a lover – all of them, and many other famous people from the history of this town, come back to life in mid-July during the Imperial Town festival, which combines music and theatre at various locations, transforming Opatija into one big stage for a fantastic spectacle with thousands of visitors.

During the two days of the event, visitors will have the chance to learn more about Opatija's history and some of its secrets, and to see for themselves why this town has become and has remained a favourite destination for many celebrities, as well as to feel the spirit of the time when Opatija began its rise to the throne of European tourism. The event "Opatija – the Imperial town" takes place all over the town centre and along the main street, and also on the seafront promenade and in the magnificent parks and impressive villas, and it ends with a spectacular concert on Slatina Beach.

M-course with the Institute for Waldorf Education from Witten Annen, after a tour of Germany and Switzerland, are coming to Croatia. Ten euritmistics performers from Europe, Asia and South America plan donate eurhythmics performances for children and adults.
Eurhythmy is the art of expressing movement and gestures and movements are trying to express sound and speech through body movements.

On Friday, 11/07/2014. starts new project of Croatian Museum of Tourism, "In the attic with the author."
The attic area of Swiss house, every Friday at five, ie at 17h one author will spend an hour painting, playing music, writing or doing what already works, and the audience is invited to observe, meet and talk.

The central project of collaboration between Kastafsko kulturno leto and the Kombinat creative collective is initiated in 2014 with the goal of implementing a participatory artistic creation during the exhibitional week of KKL 2014. The goal of the project is to include local population and visitors of the city of Kastav in the realization of this project, and also to include them in the consummation of contents following the exhibitional programme. The project is focused around the locations of the historic town core in the city of Kastav. With the creative interventions on the locations of historical meaning the city spaces are being reactivated and, with the open invitation to play, new possibilities are being made for future inscriptions in the city tissue. With this kind of exhibitional programme, which is stepping outside in the streets of the city to play, everyone is being invited to this creative intercourse which is here to question and open now, unforeseen possibilities. Different interventions in the old historic core of the city will be based on the historical and culturological exploration of the local stories and legends. The result of these activities is building a web of alternative stories about the local history. Chosen points, the specific locations in the city, will be visually marked and will become playing positions in the urban game of history. Innovative visual solutions will, in an educational and amendable way, help reinterpret the historical content. In a very important part, the programme is answering the needs of a new generation (it’s visual and multimedia segment), which doesn’t make it less appropriate for the rest of the city public. For the entire duration of the project, and with its ending, the city of Kastav will be mapped, and become a center of artistic intervention practices of the regional creative industry and different types of media that they will be using (photography, illustration, design, video, audio segment).

Opatija will this year become a part of this international community which gives an opportunity to all the children and all the fairytale and fantasy enthusiasts to celebrate this day with us.
Characteristic urban landscape symbol - the widely known park Angiolina - on this day becomes an enchanted canvas for celebrating fairy tales, legends and myths.

The traditional feast organized by the local committee Belvedere and coffee bar Del Mar will be held on Friday, June 20 on the beach Tomaševac. Season of socializing "the meter from the sea" will open Koktelsi, a start is scheduled for 20 o'clock.
