Since 1996 Music Society Spinčići organizes an International Festival of Brass Orchestras. Besides the ones from Croatia, the festival also hosted orchestras from Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic and Austria. Visiting orchestras traditionally open the festival by performing through the boroughs of Kastav. That is followed by a procession through the streets of Kastav and an opening ceremony in which all the orchestras perform together. Finally, every orchestra performs independently a short repertoire.

The first weekend of October are the days of tasting the new wine, the popular bDer erste Oktobersonntag und -montag gelten als die Tage, an denen der typische Weißwein von Kastavština, belica, angeboten bzw. degustiert wird. Bela nedeja ist nicht nur die Messe des Heurigen, sondern eine große Messe alter Handwerke, verschiedener Waren, mit vielen Verkaufs- und Gaststättenständen und zahlreichen Ereignissen. Dieser Feiertag des Heurigen hat eine lange Tradition und wurde noch im Gesetzbuch der Stadt Kastav 1400 erwähnt.elica, an authentic white wine of Kastav region. Bela nedeja is not only a new wine fair but also a day when old crafts are presented, various goods are on sale, numerous stalls with drinks and food are set up and a variety of events take place. Bela nedeja has a centuries-old tradition and it is even mentioned in The Law of the City of Kastav from 1400.

Fantastic live concerts, on which the audience is always eagerly awaiting Urban´s new songs, are the proof of how great this charismatic musician really is and also a good announcement of excellent evening in Kastav.

Gabrielle Stravelli 4-tet resulted from collaboration between musicians from the United States, Denmark and Croatia. The European tour of the Gabrielle Stravelli 4-tet will take place during July 2013, during which they will perform also in Kastav. Gabrielle Stravelli (vocals) comes from a vibrant jazz scene of New York, where he regularly performs on some of the most famous stages, Pat O'Leary (contrabass) has collaborated and performed with some of the most famous names from the world of jazz of the past few decades, such as Diana Krall, Lionel Hampton, Freddie Hubbard, Illinois Jacquet and many other important musicians. Jacob Melchior (drums) is also a part of the New York jazz scene, where he came from his native Copenhagen, while Zoran Majstorović (guitar) is known as a multi-instrumentalist active on both Croatian and Italian jazz scenes. The band´s repertoire consists of their own music and some selected jazz standards.
The Kastav Cultural Summer often hosts guests from all over Europe, but rarely from the other side of the Atlantic, therefore we look forward to the visit of Gabrielle Stravelli and his multinational quartet.
