Black Coffee was established in 1993 in the City of Split and has been regarded as one of the best Croatian jazz fusion bands. They have been been nominated for the music award Porin, which they won in 1997 ( for the best jazz performance -"Night and Day" (Black Coffee with Oliver Dragojevic). In 2004th album "Krijanca" won even two Porins: Best Instrumental Performance (song "Tempera" Artist: Black Coffee / Matija Dedic) and Best Jazz Performance (song "Oh deep sea").

They have collaborated with a number of Croatian and foreign artists: Bosko Petrovic, Matija Dedic, Zdenka Kovaeieek, Gabi Novak, Arsen Dedic, Tedi, Tammy McCann, Robin Brown, Carlos Werneck, Georgie Fame, Marcelo Godoy, Daniele di Bonaventura. In recent years, they have been performing with Martin Thomas - a Haitian singer with a beautiful voice that for many years sang in clubs of Paris and New York.
