Denkmal Friedrich Julius Schüller

Friedrich Julius Schüler war Direktor der privaten k. u. k. Südbahngesellschaft und begann mit dem Bau der ersten Villen und Hotels in Opatija (Hotel Kvarner) und in Lovran. Man kann sagen, dass 1882 die Geschichte des Tourismus beginnt, als nämlich die Südbahngesellschaft, mit Julius Schüler an der Spitze, die „Villa Angiolina“ erwirbt.

Im Park Angiolina ist eine Büste Schülers aufgestellt, eine Arbeit des Bildhauers Hans Rathausky.
