'Film, Food & Music Night' organized by Milenij hotel continues in the autumn terms. This interesting concept combines music, film and fine gastronomy, and continues with the screening of extraordinary documentary film by Finnish director Mika Kaurismäki, about the charismatic and impressive African musician Miriam Makeba. Her strong message against racism and poverty, and the message for equality and peace toured the world. Mama Africa, which was her nickname, is an homage dedicated to this artist who embody the voice and the hope of Africa.
The projection of the musical documentary 'Miriam Makeba: Mama Africa' will take place on Friday, 16.10. at the Hotel Continental Opatija

Marunada is the traditional food festival dedicated to the special type of sweet chestnut that thrives only on the slopes of Mount Učka, and which is known locally as "marun" (hence the name of the event). The sweet chestnuts from Lovran are distinguished by their specific sweet taste and are used to create the interesting sweets presented at this festival. In addition to cakes and pancakes, which you will find only here and nowhere else, the Marunada, which was listed as one of the ten most important food festivals in Europe by international media, offers visitors a wide range of other dishes prepared with sweet chestnuts, as well as the opportunity to buy the fruit raw or roasted. The Marunada also includes a musical programme with popular local bands.
