The villa Magnolia is one of the most attractive villas in Lovran. It was built in 1904-1906, according to the designs of famous Viennese architect Carl Seidl, who deserves praise for the construction of a number of remarkable buildings on Opatija's Riviera. In the beginning the villa went under the name of Klein, after its proprietress, Baroness Louise von Wiesenburg, and for a certain time it also went under the name of San Nicolo, after the patron saint of seafarers to whom the chapel in its immediate vicinity is also dedicated. Seidl had a sense of refinement for the natural and cultural environment hence the architecture of villa Magnolia fits into the landscape in the best possible way, springing up in the street known as Villenstrasse, in the neighborhood of yet another of Seidl's famous works - the villa Frappart.
It is beyond doubt that erstwhile aristocrats knew how to enjoy life. And today as well, for persons tired of traveling and of frustrations that they are exposed to in their work and everyday lives, there is no better remedy than a leisurely walk along the seaside promenade that stretches in a length of several kilometers and passes directly under the terrace of villa Magnolia. One may also seek tranquility in some of the nooks of the spacious plot of ground around the villa, alongside the graveled paths, amidst the copies of monuments dispersed throughout the garden, on the benches with views that encompass the entire Gulf of Kvarner, under the pergolas and beside the stone vases with their elaborate relievos. A more demanding eye will on the facade of the villa, between its loggias, terraces and neo-Renaissance columns, discover a lunette with the mosaic that depicts two angels - a copied detail from Raphael's Sistine Madonna, and in front of the entrance door a stone relievo of Saint Nicholas.
When invigorated by the fresh air you go back to the villa, which has been proclaimed a first-class cultural heritage monument, you will find yourself in the central entrance hall with its richly embellished fireplace, surrounded by brass secession-style knobs and other traces of the predilections of its old owners and of older times. And just as the villa Magnolia arises from an incomparably older house next door, you too will feel that the days spent in the villa have helped you feel better in your own original ambiance in the course of the remainder of the year, whilst the Kvarner vedutas that you have enjoyed and that you will carry with you wherever you go, will always urge you to come back once more.
Payment currency is kuna. Prices in Euro's are just for your information and reflect on exchange rate on the day of payment.
GENERAL CONDITIONS/ CANCELATION POLICYGuest agrees to fully accept these Terms of reservation that had previously been carefully read.When making a reservation, for the purpose of booking the selected service, the customer guarantees the payment of hotel reservation in advance by credit card, 50% of the agreed amount, unless the offer is not otherwise specified. The difference to the full package price needs to be paid on the reception in Kuna, unless the offer is not otherwise specified. In case customer pays via bank/money transfer - 100% of the amount needs to be paid prior to arrival.
SERVICE PRICE The price of the service is listed in the offer. All types of special services that are not included in the price customer pays on the spot and is obliged to order at the time of booking or on request in Villa itself.
PRICE CHANGEVilla Magnolia reserves the right to change prices if there has been a change in the exchange-rate compared to the day of publication rates (above 0.5%). Villa Magnolia, may inform the customer in writing or orally of these changes. Guest may cancel the tour without the cost of cancellation if a price increases more than 10% in relation to the agreed, at the latest within 48 hours of received written notification. If the customer does not cancel in person or in writing in this period, it is considered that he/she agrees with the price change.TRAVEL DOCUMENTSTravel documents will be sent to customer via internet, fax or mail (by arrangement), and refers to booking confirmation.CATEGORIZATION AND DESCRIPTION OF VILLA Offered accommodation and other facilities are described according to the official categorization of the Republic of Croatia at the time of the current publishing program according to the data of Villa Magnolia. Villa Magnolia does not take the responsibility for oral or written information which is not in accordance with the description of services and facilities in the published program, which was obtained by a third person. Villa Magnolia is not responsible in case of incorrect information by a business partner.ACCOMMODATION IN HOTEL The reception determines room schedule on arrival. Check in 2:00 pm on the day of arrival; check out by 11:00 am on the day of departure. It is necessary to announce arrivals after 8:00 pm in advance; otherwise Villa Magnolia does not guarantee the possibility of services, unless otherwise indicated.
CANCELLATION POLICY & PENALTY FEES If the customer cancels the reservation, Villa Magnolia will: • Up to 28 days before arrival, return the advance payment deduction deducted by bank transfer costs • less than 27 days prior to arrival, keep advance payment in full, except in the case of „higher „ power. If customer who cancels the trip finds a new user for the same reservations, Villa Magnolia will charge only possible costs caused by the replacement.TRAVEL DOCUMENTSGuests are required to have valid personal travel documents. Invalid documents, which would have resulted in the cancellation, cancelation policy applies. If the customer loose or if the travel documents get lost, customer bears the costs of issuing the new documents. Villa Magnolia is not responsible for the decision of the customs and police and other public bodies which do not allow guests entering the country.
FOREIGN CURRENCY AND CUSTOMS REGULATIONS Guests are required to abide by the foreign exchange and customs regulations, as well as other laws and bylaws of the Republic of Croatia and other countries that are passing through.
COMPLAINTSIt is customer's interest to make a complaint if there is one, immediately while at the villa. If the complaint is not resolved the customer must seek written confirmation that the service is not provided, or that is not provided in a manner that is agreed upon. Confirmation must be submitted with the written complaint that must be sent within 8 days after the trip. If a written complaint is sent after the deadline, Villa Magnolia is not required to take this complaint into consideration.. Villa Magnolia is required to send you written solution to customer's complaint. Villa Magnolia will take into consideration only those complaints that could not be resolved on the spot. While solutions are in process, the customer can not involve any other party, the arbitration of any other institutions, as well as giving information to the media. Also at this time, the customer waives the right for a lawsuit. Maximum compensation per complaint cannot exceed the cost of the service and cannot include services that have been used, or the amount of the whole package. Guest and Villa Magnolia will try to resolve any possible disputes by mutual agreement, otherwise disputes will be handled by jurisdiction of County Court in Rijeka. Applicable law will be the Croatian law.CUSTOMER LIABILITIES Villa Magnolia is obliged to care about the services given, as well as the choice of provider, with care of a good businessman and caring about the rights and interests of the customer in accordance with good practices in tourism. Villa shall provide all contracted services for a particular arrangement and will provide answers for any non-service or only part of the service. All of these liabilities from its program will be executed in full and as described above, except in the case of 'higher' power, weather disasters, or changed circumstances. If possible, Villa Magnolia will in such cases offer a replacement solution. Villa Magnolia is not required to provide services outside of these Terms.CUSTOMER OBLIGATIONS Customer is obliged to personally fulfill the conditions and regulations of the Republic of Croatia, and to abide by house rules in Villa Magnolia, cooperate with the representative of the service provider. Guest is responsible for caused damages, especially damage that has occurred as a consequence breach of contract and these general conditions. If damage is caused, the customer will have to reimburse it at the hotel's reception. FINAL REGULATIONSThese general conditions of reservation of an accommodation are an integral part of the contract which the customer makes with Villa Magnolia. Possible / predicted deviations from these Terms must be listed along with the text offer. Upon advance payment guest fully accepts instructions and conditions of the reservation.
